Happy Federal Territory Day!

It has been a pretty quiet day except when I met Uncle Lucas. Since I had nothing to do today and he was working from home, I sort of invited myself to hangout with him at alt.space.

It was a pretty good lepak session since I got to do some reading and on top of that, we got to yo-yo and like normal, all the ridiculous tricks came out again.

Overall it was a pretty good day, hanging out and chilling. If only everyday was like this!

I love looking at the "stray" dogs in my neighbourhood when they eat. Maybe it's a little weird for some but it's just me.

Everytime when we get home or open the front gate, they will come running for food. They've never barked or growl or chase me so far, maybe because of the food we always gave them.

Today started out really slow for me and I just chilled at home until I received a text message telling me that one of my best friend's father just passed away.

Right after that it was a mad dash in getting ready, calling the necessary friends and what not to inform them. I managed to meet Pian's dad in the hospital a couple of days ago and managed to talk to him briefly.

He was safely buried before Maghrib prayers at "Tanah Perkuburan Islam Meru" and Alhamdulillah everything went smoothly.

I went to a Levi's store earlier to try out a smaller size from what I was wearing at the moment (503s, Loose Tapered Sz38) and tried on a pair of size 36s.

A little tight on thighs but manageable. The waist on the other hand, had about two inches to reach the button.

I need to lose more weight.

Today's post is going to be a little sombre but I think it's about time I posted about it since it happened.

Last Wednesday, my uncle passed away. He has been struggling for the last year since he had a heart attack and he died peacefully in the arms of his wife and son.

It did hit my family and myself a little harder. On the day he passed away, I had a doctor's appointment at the hospital for my injured foot and right after the appointment, my mum called my dad asking us where we were and asked us to rush to my uncles place to help the family out. They have called the ambulance and it has not arrived yet, so we rushed to his place.

Lo and behold, we got stuck in traffic. Two to be exact and it was one of those why-the-hell-is-there-a-traffic-jam-right-now moments. My dad called the wife to see how is everything and all the wife could say was I can't talk now and crying uncontrollably. We were about less than 15 minutes away (it was a lot less I think) when my mum called and said that my uncle has passed away.

My dad and myself were lost for words, both of us shocked. We were the first family members to arrive at the home and we automatically did our part; My dad consoled my aunty and when to make the necessary arrangements and what not; I called and informed all the family members, consoled my cousin, carried the furniture out of the house to make space and everything else in between.

My mum took it hard as well because she was on the phone with my aunt the last 5 minutes of my uncle's life and she heard the last conversation between them, as well as his last breath. My mum has been strong so far but I do hope she feels better real soon.

Even though it was nobody's fault but I couldn't help thinking what if we arrived in time to take him to the hospital. I accept it was fated that it would happen and I'm somehow glad that my uncle didn't have to suffer anymore. I was down for the next couple of days for sure.

I want to thank everyone for their wishes, calls, smses, BBMs, tweets and what not. I really appreciated it.

I'll be heading to the hospital again tomorrow for my next check up with a physiologist. I'm hoping I would know what's wrong and how to avoid it in it the future.

I'm itching to get back on my bike and start moving again. I feel like I've put on some weight.

For the last several days, I have been stuck at home due some problems I've had with my right leg. So a couple of days ago, I when to the hospital to get it checked and so far it has been a little better but it's still difficult for me to really walk and stand.

During the checkup, I explained to the doctor on my past injuries I've had on the leg and eventually got a an explanation on what was happening. The doctor confirmed that the pain area was not gout related due to the area was different. He mentioned the problem I was having was my recurring injury but more to the inflammation of my tendon and ligament that caused it to swell. Therefore, I couldn't bend on step on my foot. He has made arrangements for me to see the physiologist on the matter and I would only know more after the appointment.

So far, I'm more stressed out because of my immobility rather than anything else but staying at home has brought me something I thought would come later than earlier and I'm really thankful for that. I also realized several things that I shouldn't have been doing as well to myself. It's funny that this painful injury has brought both good and bad.

It's really a blessing in disguise. God definitely works in mysterious ways.

For the last 2 days, I've been stuck home due to a recurring injury I have in my right foot. I can't step or put on any significant weight on it. Several years ago, I tore both my knee and ankle ligament due to playing Futsal and my right leg has never been the same. The knee was always the problem area but lately, my foot/ankle area has given me some problems.

So far the cycling and the food control I've been practicing has helped me but now I'm a little afraid if it is something else like Gout or other things. If it is gout, I'll be devastated. I always believe gout is an "obese man" disease and one of the reason why I started living healthier was because I didn't want that to happen to me.

I'll be going to the hospital tomorrow for a check up and possible blood test and I really hope it's nothing major.

Four days into 2012 and it has got me thinking. Would this year be a blur like 2011? Moving so fast that it seems like it was fast forward.

2011 brought a lot of things to my plate, both foreseeable and unforeseeable. It has brought me closer to my faith as well as it has brought me closer to myself. I realized that somethings I can't control and I leave it to faith and chance. Maybe I shouldn't but from the way it looks, maybe just letting it be should be the best thing to do.

A book I'm currently reading said it well: “Behind every trial and sorrow that He makes us shoulder, God has a reason.”

I can't wait to see what 2012 has in store for everyone and myself.

If you read my post yesterday, I attended the wedding of my dear friend, Nichy. It was a lovely wedding, one of the biggest I've gone to with 90 tables. We were of course seated at the Halal table and the food was pretty good!

We also did a yo-yo demo for the bride & groom and even invited Nichy to do some tricks on stage.

By chance, today Sophie turned a month old! If anyone is wondering about the Adha part of her name, it's because she was born on Hari Raya Aidil Adha!

700th post!

I was thinking about some super post for the 700th day I have been posting but I couldn't really think of anything to write!

When I started the so-called Project 365, I never imagine that I could even complete 365 days of posting and now I have done it for 700 days straight, posting without fail, everyday since January 1st, 2010.

I have 30 more days to complete a project that was supposed to be only for a year and has transpired to 2 years now.

I was hoping to sleep in but it did not happen. I had a morning meeting, had to go the market with the dad for tomorrow's catering and another meeting in the evening and eventually a final meet up to get the website set up and what not.

Long weekend but all work! Hoping to get an off day on Monday!

It has only been 2 days since I started working on my own and I am very surprised that I have been busier than I thought I would be. I have been waking up the same time I go to work and head out around the same time.

I admit it's a little more relaxed but I have so much more to do with streamlining the processes, the bookkeeping as well as meeting clients and what not. I'm very happy that I'm constantly busy because I really want this to happen!

I know I can do this!

It's less than 24hours since I watched the Whitesnake concert yesterday at Stadium Putra and I'm reeling over the fact that I saw them live! It was unreal, surreal, unbelievable and everything else!

I couldn't believe I had the chance to ever watched them live after Hafiz introduced them to me a couple of years back by showing me Whitesnake's Live in the Still of the Night DVD.

It had to be one of the best concerts I've been too and listening to Coverdale's voice, Aldrich's wailing guitar solos was definitely a dream came true for me.

They had a pretty freaking solid set list, similar to what they played in Korea several days ago. What was it you might ask? Here's the list:

It's the post of evil! Today is the 666th day I have posted straight on this blog.

Today is also the day that I passed my on road driving test and I'm proud to say after so long, I have a valid driving license! Well, I get the actual license next week but what the hell? I got it!

I promised that I would get it and I'm thankful that I passed!

Today is the 300th day of 2011!

I'm stuck at home today with a massive migraine and sometime this morning, I read the story below from Facebook. I hope you guys enjoy reading it as much I did...

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him.

When the class began, wordlessly, He picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls.

He then asked the students, if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls.

He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar.

Of course, the sand filled up everything else.

He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous 'yes.'

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.

'Now,' said the professor, as the laughter subsided,

'I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life.

The golf balls are the important things - family, children, health, Friends, and Favorite passions – Things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, Your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, house, and car.

The sand is everything else --The small stuff.

'If you put the sand into the jar first,' He continued, there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life.

If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, You will never have room for the things that are important to you.

So...

Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness.

Play With your children.

Take time to get medical checkups.

Take your partner out to dinner.

There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal.

'Take care of the golf balls first -- The things that really matter.

Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented.

The professor smiled and said, 'I'm glad you asked'.

It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem,

There’s always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend.
